SVEC announces personnel changes in the Pikeville office

 Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative recently announced the promotion of two employees in the Pikeville office.

Kristy Davis has been promoted to the position of Customer Service Manager at the Pikeville SVEC office and Joel Roberts to the position of line foreman for the Pikeville crew.

Davis fills the position left by the resignation of Cyndi Johnson.  Johnson and her husband Jerry now own and operate Johnson Family Furniture of Pikeville.

Davis has excelled in the position of customer service representative since joining the SVEC staff in June of 2000.

“During her seven years of service to the cooperative Kristy has shown great initiative and skill. She is always friendly and accommodating toward our members and receives very positive feedback from them. We are excited to be able to offer her this opportunity to progress within the co-op and to use her skills to help the co-op grow,” stated Beth Duggar , SVEC vice president of customer service.

Davis holds a degree in business administration from Stetson University in Deland , Florida . She has recently completed an MBA in accounting through the University of Phoenix as well.

Davis, her husband Eric, and their eight-year-old son Garrett, a third-grader at Mary V. Wheeler Elementary, live in Spencer.

Roberts fills the position left vacant by the retirement of Alfred Terry.

Roberts joined the Cooperative in January of 1996 as an apprentice lineman and worked his way up to the position of journeyman lineman during that time.

“Joel’s hard work over the past eleven years has prepared him with the skills needed to fill this position. We all wish him well with the new responsibilities that come with this promotion,” stated SVEC vice president of operations, Bobby Skyles .

Roberts stated, “I enjoy working with my fellow employees here at SVEC. I know that they will help make the adjustment to my new job easier.”

A Pikeville native, and graduate of Bledsoe County High School , Roberts and his wife Donna have three children. Dustin, a 2007 graduate of Bledsoe County High School , is now working with an electrical contractor; Jordan is a sophomore at BCHS and Madilyn, a sixth grader at Bledsoe County Middle School .

Roberts has been a coach for the Bledsoe County Rebound Basketball league for the past eight years while his children have been playing.

The Roberts make their home just outside of Pikeville and are members of the New Hope Baptist Church .
