SVEC holds Christmas auction to benefit Multi-County Cancer Support Network

If you are getting serious about your Christmas shopping, the Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative Christmas Auction is the place to start. Stop by the SVEC office at 512 S. Cedar Avenue in South Pittsburg December 11-13 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and check out the great gift ideas in the silent auction to benefit the Multi-County Cancer Support Network (MCCSN). The MCCSN is a local, non-profit organization formed in 1992 that it is designed to provide support and services to local cancer patients while undergoing treatment. For more information about the organization visit:

Numerous businesses and individuals have donated valuable gifts and services for the auction, all to raise funds to assist local cancer patients and their families as they deal with a diagnosis of cancer.

Let your Christmas shopping dollars give in two ways by participating in this festive event. Delight your friends and family with unique gifts while also providing support for those actively battling cancer. Last year’s event brought in nearly $8,000 – help SVEC exceed that total for the MCCSN 2018 event.

This year’s auction will include something for everyone: many gift items, gift cards and certificates for services. In addition to raising funds for a very worthwhile organization, the auction also serves as SVEC’s way of promoting local businesses and “shopping locally” this Christmas season.

The many gift items will be set up in the SVEC Community room December 11-13. The room will be open to the public from 11:00 to 1:00 each day. Bidding will close promptly at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13. Those who are unable to stay until the bidding ends may place sealed bids. Winning bidders may pick up their items any time after 1:00 p.m. on December 13. A selection of donated items, gift cards and gift certificates will be featured for bid exclusively on the SVEC Online Auction Facebook page @SVECauction. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network to assist local cancer patients. So come on out, visit with your friends, purchase some great gifts and contribute to this very worthwhile cause!

Anyone who would like to donate an item for the auction may call Cathy Black at 423-837-5044 or Joan Davis at 423-837-5045.
