SVEC Relay for Life
"Relay For Life is a life-changing event
that helps communities
across the globe celebrate
the lives of people who have battled
cancer, remember loved ones lost,
and fight back against the disease."
Relay for Life is an organization that many SVEC employees are actively involved with, both as teams and individuals serving on county committees. Our teams attend the annual event and fund-raise throughout the year. Several here at SVEC have been touched by cancer, in their own life or the lives of family or dear friends, therefore it is a personal war that we wage by raising money to fight this disease. All monies from Relay for Life benefit the American Cancer Society.
The SVEC Marion County Relay for Life team raised over $17,000 for 2016! One on our biggest fund-raisers is the Annual "Souper" Luncheon and Silent Auction, held each year in December. We accept merchandise or service donations from individuals/businesses, and then auction off all of the items graciously donated. While you wait and watch your bid you are welcome to warm up with a bowl of hot, home-made soup and dessert.
This year the Silent Auction will begin on December 13 and bidding will conclude on Thursday, December 15 at 1 p.m. at the South Pittsburg office. The "Souper" Luncheon will be at the same location, beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 15.
If you have any questions regarding Relay for Life or you would like to donate an item to the silent auction, please call Joan Davis, 423-837-5045 or Cathy Black, 423-837-5044.
