South Pittsburg - Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) welcomed incoming Chief Financial Officer Matt Brewer this month.

Brewer comes to SVEC from Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) where he was the senior cost performance analyst. Prior to his work at AEDC, he was the assistant plant controller for Nissan in Decherd, Tennessee, where he led a team of accountants responsible for annual business plans, forecasts, and budgeting.

Brewer was recognized by National Aerospace Solutions with an Excellence Innovation award for creating effective and reliable detailed cost reports. He was also recognized for improving efficiency and enhancing quality for several cost processes, as well as receiving awards for creating and improving financial reporting methods to ensure consistency between government financial systems and NAS’s software.

“We are excited to have Matt join our team,” says President/CEO Michael Partin. “His knowledge, ability and leadership will be a tremendous asset to the cooperative and the members we serve.”

Brewer holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Corporate Management from Lipscomb University. He is from Gruetli-Laager, where he lives with his wife Kacy and their three children.
