Green Switch – originally called Green Power Switch – was launched by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in 2000 as the first green power program in the Southeast. Since its launch, Green Switch prices have decreased drastically, making renewable energy an affordable option.

Green Flex: Why renewable energy certificates?

Green Flex is a new program that allows businesses and industries inside the Tennessee Valley to purchase out-of-Valley wind renewable energy certificates (RECs). Whether you are aiming to meet your sustainability goals or just want to invest in renewable energy, purchasing RECs can help reduce your environmental impact.
RECs are a great way for businesses and industries to demonstrate their interest in clean, renewable energy. Each REC represents one megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy generated and delivered to the power grid. When you purchase RECs, you are purchasing the environmental attributes associated with the renewable energy generated.
